Missie is currently bringing home an unusually large number of mice. Sometimes three to four in a short period. She carries them into the house—sometimes to the basement, sometimes upstairs—and I can tell by her meowing that she has a mouse with her. I’ve come to recognize this specific meow immediately, and apparently, so has Lina. Then I escort Missie and her catch back outside.
Lina then runs into the garden and waits to see if she can snatch something for herself. And indeed, she has already managed to take the mouse away from Missie a few times. Or she simply eats what Missie leaves behind. Ayla usually doesn’t quite catch on, thankfully. 😉
It’s a bit macabre, I admit… But I’m amazed at how industrious this little cat is.

Otherwise, summer is in full swing here. The lettuce is growing beautifully. And what’s great: Completely without slugs! The peas and tomatoes are thriving, and the first berries are also ripe. What a blessing.
The flowers are blooming so splendidly and wonderfully. Summer has truly arrived.
So far, I can only capture such shots with Lina. When Lina is in work mode, she can pose really well. I haven’t trained Ayla properly yet, so she can’t hold still when I take the camera at a distance. But don’t worry, she’s doing well.
