My excitement for a new life in Sweden is barely containable\u2014even though my furniture (or at least what I wanted to take with me) has already arrived at its new Swedish home. As I sit here in my empty house, surrounded by packed suitcases, I\u2019m eagerly waiting for a spare part for ALMI. Because, as life often does, an unforeseen problem arose during my last service. But who needs a smooth process when you&#8217;re in for an adventure, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here I am, sitting in my nearly empty house, practicing patience\u2014which turns out to be more challenging than expected. I\u2019ll tell you, patience is not exactly my strong suit! Finally, after what felt like 100 years, ALMI was back in action. I packed the rest of my stuff and hit the road. The feeling of freedom was overwhelming!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive through Germany was more of a slog; I just wanted to cover miles as if I was aiming to win a marathon with my camper. &#8220;Drive, ALMI, drive!&#8221; I shouted, imagining us speeding down the highway like greyhounds.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/pawsunited.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ALMI-auf-der-Faehre.jpeg\" alt=\"ALMI on the ferry\" class=\"wp-image-6877\" style=\"object-fit:cover\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pawsunited.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ALMI-auf-der-Faehre.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/pawsunited.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/ALMI-auf-der-Faehre-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">ALMI on the ferry to Denmark<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>When we finally reached the ferry to Denmark, it felt like we had taken the first step into a new adventure. There, we visited one of the fantastic dog forests. Lina and Ayla were thrilled!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video aligncenter\"><video height=\"854\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 480 \/ 854;\" width=\"480\" controls src=\"https:\/\/pawsunited.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Im-Hundewald-in-Daenemark.mov\" playsinline><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Exploring the dog forest in Denmark<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Sweden, here we come! With a fully loaded camper, an insatiable thirst for adventure, and two overjoyed dogs in tow\u2014this can only be great!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"schweden\">Hej Sverige \ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\uddea &#8211; On to Glommerstr\u00e4sk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive through Sweden up to Glommerstr\u00e4sk felt like chewing gum\u2014and I don&#8217;t mean the fresh, minty kind, but the one that&#8217;s been stuck in your pocket for weeks, refusing to give up its flavor. Although we reached Stockholm quickly, we were far from Lapland. It felt as if I were driving ALMI through an endless maze of birches and firs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We spent another night in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sverigesnationalparker.se\/en\/choose-park---list\/skuleskogen-national-park\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skuleskogen<\/a> National Park. I must say, the (legal!) camping spot was a real find! The next morning greeted us with fresh, clear weather, and I grabbed my hiking boots for a little exploration. I really enjoyed the park and plan to visit again with more time\u2014perhaps with a picnic and a blanket to fully indulge in nature. I felt a bit like a pilot heading toward a runway\u2014with the difference that my &#8220;airport&#8221; was in the middle of the Swedish nowhere and I didn&#8217;t have a cockpit, just a slightly frustrating, not quite functional radio receiver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the last day, we had about three more hours of driving on snow. I love snow, everyone knows that, but after a few hours in the car, trying not to turn ALMI into a contestant in a drifting competition, I was ready for a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then, finally, on Sunday, we reached Glommerstr\u00e4sk! The sight of the small, charming town was like the redeeming final act in an epic film. Overjoyed and grateful that everything had gone so well, I jumped out of the car as if I had hit the Swedish jackpot. Lina and Ayla seemed excited too, as if they were saying, &#8220;Finally! Where are the moose?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now the adventure in Glommerstr\u00e4sk begins! I can&#8217;t wait to explore the surroundings and create new stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"endlich-angekommen-in-glommerstrask\">Finally Arrived in Glommerstr\u00e4sk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here in Glommerstr\u00e4sk, there&#8217;s already a bit of snow, and I can tell you, it&#8217;s a sight that warms the heart! Apparently, it has snowed twice already, but the snow melted away. But now? Now everything is wrapped in a delicate white blanket that transforms the landscape into a winter fairytale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"juhui-schnee-\u2744\ufe0f\">Hooray for Snow \u2744\ufe0f<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Lina and Ayla are as excited as children! Even Lina, who hails from southern Spain where snow is more of a myth, is leaping through the snow as if she&#8217;s made the discovery of the century. I can only imagine what&#8217;s going through her little head: &#8220;So, this is snow! I could build a snowman&#8230; or even a snow-dog!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Lina frolics in the snow, I noticed something amusing: Lina keeps getting ice clumps between her paws, while Ayla has no trouble at all. It\u2019s as if Ayla is the Snow Queen, gliding effortlessly through the winter wonderland, while Lina seems like a brave pioneer who just discovered the world isn&#8217;t all sun and sand.
