About Me

Monika Baer

Monika mit Lina über Tromsö

I am Monika Baer, born in 1980 in Switzerland, and I currently live in picturesque Lapland in northern Sweden. Here, I enjoy the nature, silence, and vast horizons—perfect for contemplating new projects, developing ideas, and being creative. Being active is part of my daily life: running, cycling, hiking, or simply exploring the landscape. My faithful companions, Lina and Ayla, join me in these activities and regularly make me laugh (though they sometimes drive me a little crazy 😉).

Originally, I studied electrical engineering and information technology and worked for many years in industry and energy supply. Over the years, I have evolved into a versatile creator: I think systemically, develop software, design logos and photography, write blog texts and translations—always aiming to better connect people, animals, and systems.

My journey into dog training came through practical experience: particularly with Lina, I’ve accumulated personal insights and delved deep into canine behavior. From classic training methods to scientifically-based approaches, I sought to understand how dogs learn, communicate, and build relationships. This passion led me to train at the ATN Academy for Applied Animal Psychology and Animal Behavior Training, complemented by numerous seminars on behavior, bonding, and sports with dogs.

Today, this experience enriches PawsUnited’s Dog World: the PawsUnited Go! app, online courses at the Academy, blog posts, and activities that connect dogs and humans.

Beyond dog subjects, I love photography, blogging, and creating visual content. Everything I do follows the guiding principles: Connection, responsibility, and movement—in the world, in daily life, and in projects.
