Discovered a Passion for Photography
In recent weeks, especially in February, the light created a unique atmosphere that I wanted to capture. So, I took my camera along on our walks. During these outings, I discovered a colorful array of subjects—from the playful poses of my dogs to the elegant birds that grace us here in winter.
Dog Photography: Snow and Hiking Adventures
Photographing my dogs turned out to be quite the challenge. Ayla seldom wanted to run ahead, so I rarely had the chance to set up a pose. Meanwhile, Lina was on the leash, with Ayla frolicking around us. It was constant juggling! Despite these small hurdles, I captured some truly beautiful photos that I’m proud of. The garden shots taken during a snow flurry, in particular, have a special atmosphere. The gentle snowfall added a magical touch to the images, in my opinion.
I hope these experiences will continue to enhance my photography skills and bring joy to you through my images. Perhaps the photos will inspire some of you to capture the beauty of nature and special moments with your own furry friends. Your feedback means a lot to me and motivates me to keep discovering new perspectives and subjects.
And this is what it can look like when I’m photographing 😂 (thanks, Tina, for the photos!).

Bird Photography: The Unique Charm of a Wild Woodpecker
In addition to capturing moments with Lina and Ayla, I was lucky enough to photograph some birds, which turned out to be quite the challenge. With my 200mm lens, I often felt it was just a bit short for these elusive creatures.
In the forest, I encountered a magnificent woodpecker whose vibrant colors immediately captivated me. It’s fascinating that this woodpecker sometimes even visits my garden to enjoy the bird feed. It’s crucial that the lighting is good because, at this magnification, I need sufficient light to capture the details. These small, delightful moments make nature photography a special pleasure for me and enrich my daily adventures here.
Knitting: Rediscovering an Old Passion
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a knitting café, and after more than 30 years, I’ve rediscovered knitting. I’m thrilled by the soothing and creative effects of this activity. I’ve even knitted a pair of socks, and the feeling of creating something with my own hands is simply indescribable. Knitting offers a wonderful way to spend time and relax, while also allowing me to create small, personal masterpieces that remind me of these special moments.
Admittedly, the socks are still a bit wonky 🤣, but I’m confident I’ll improve. And for keeping my feet warm on the sofa, they’re more than enough!

And what else?
The days here are quite tranquil, and the weather has been showing its sunny side lately. I’m diligently learning Swedish and am proud to say I already understand a few bits. Speaking is still a bit challenging for me, but I’m doing my best!
In the meantime, I’ve updated the About Me – Dog Trainer with Heart page and created a dedicated page about my dogs. Feel free to check it out if you’d like!
One culinary specialty has particularly caught my fancy: the semla. It’s a type of bread filled with almond paste and cream (Swedes, please forgive me if my description isn’t quite accurate). Today, I discovered its variation: the Kanelbulle Semla 🤩! It was almost a bit too sweet, but still an exciting taste experience.

I’d like to take this opportunity to express a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supports me, helps me, and is always there for me. I’m truly grateful for the chance to have all these wonderful experiences!
I’m slowly preparing for my trip to Switzerland in April. Although I’m a bit apprehensive about returning to the hustle and bustle, I’m really looking forward to seeing friends and family.
I’d like to conclude with the following quote.

This quote reminds us that the passion and joy we put into our activities are especially valuable when we do them in the name of the Lord. It highlights the importance of pursuing what fulfills and makes us happy – be it in photography, knitting, or spending time with our beloved dogs. Perhaps I’ll elaborate elsewhere on why I chose this biblical quote and the role faith plays in my life. It inspires me to pursue my dreams and enjoy the small joys of everyday life.
